New to woodworking
Hi. I'm very new to woodworking and I'm loving it. I had to build some very basic shelves for added closet storage and and bed frame and decided to get creative with the left over wood. I'm hooked! So far I've made a basic tray using rabbit joints on miter saw. A decorative shelf for the hall and a partition set up for all of the baking sheets. All are very rudimentary and are exercises in joinery. I'm totally hooked. Our small backyard is my shop. Its outside and private enough that I can be nude. One thing though. Al I the only one that slips on a pair of shorts when using the miter saw?
Welcome to the wonderful world of woodworking! The only time I ever put anything on, if my garage door is closed, is when I'm turning something on my lathe. Wood chips can be quite large at times and will fly at you. I wear a full face mask and apron. Otherwise I'm fully naked when I'm working. Just pay attention and don't let your attention wander and you'll be fine.
It is useful to use protection when woodworking or other crafts where bits go flying. I have to be careful when using a cutoff wheel since little hot metal pieces can hurt. I have a welding apron that works well when needed. Safety counts regardless of primary dress.
