Naturism and sexual arousal
Hi all.
I think I may have a problem.
Since Covid quarantine, working from home, I am almost all my time naked.
And I have lot of time to go to nude beaches (I was going, before but not that much). You could say that I am lucky. This is true, I recognise I am.
But doing so much naturism, I think my sexual arousal has suffered. Seeing many naked male, and touching myself much more (don't you touch yourself more being naked home?), I don't feel any excitement anymore for anyone.
Does anyone else noticed a link between naturism and lack of sexual appetite?
I would appreciate experiences, because I am very disturbed right now.
Thanks
Sadly,I've been having a similar issue. I don't think it's directly related with nudism though. I've spent a lot of time naked at home, but haven't been to any nudist beach. I'm not an expert but it may be related to the amount of porn you watch and time you spend online. The suggestion is to take some months off porn and try to reduce the overstimulation.
It's a difficult topic to discuss and not sure whom to talk too either.
Best of luck
Well, curiously, I am not watching lot of porn. I was in the past, but not anymore. Just sometimes for few minutes.
But talking about overstimulation might be the key. Maybe I am touching myself too much because I am nude and it is easy to access it (maybe as many times as my face - we are touching our face so many times per day unconsciously, I learned that from Covid)...
And then overstimulate it.
But it is a a problem then because I don't do it consciously, so the only way to solve it would be...to dress up :-(
Did you solve your problem finally? What did you do?

I doubt it is anything to do with spending time naked or seeing a lot of naked men on your screen. it is probably more to do with a common mild depression/anxiety that is affecting many during this Covid crisis. you are looking for a link in the wrong place.

I think it has more to do with just being comfortable being naked. You don't get aroused when clothed because that is your norm. Now, being naked is your norm. When I first tried nudism, I was constantly aroused and fantasizing all the time. Now I can comfortably chat with folks while naked. Arousal is a brain trigger. If you are not thinking sexually, your body will not react. If I'm in a sexual situation my body immediately reacts. Don't worry about it. Just enjoy the freedom.

I don't think the naturism is likely to be to blame - this whole Covid thing is getting a lot of people down, and my guess is that that's the issue, at least that's what my own experience suggests. Speaking for myself, nothing gets me down like scary stuff I feel I have no control over - worrying about other stuff as well doesn't usually help much though.
I'm no therapist, so take my "advice" as what it is, just uninformed personal ramblings. I would try to find someone to talk to who _can_ actually help, but y'need to be on the same wavelength and it's non-trivial - if you're looking for professional help with stress or personal issues, expect to go through quite a few before you find someone you click with enough to find helpful. It's no-one's fault, it's just folk are a diverse bunch.
Cut yourself some slack, enjoy the opportunity to do more naturist stuff, don't panic, either about covid or your sex drive. The former will go away, the latter will come back, I reckon.
I am the same way . However, I have forced myself to try and get exercise in. The endorphins released when exercising bring my sexual arousal back as I believe it affects my testosterone level as well. Nude beach and good hard cardio may help; at least for me.
I agree with Post 6 that the down turn of the sex drive is linked to depression. As I have experience of this myself. A few years back my sex drive took a nose dive and I could figure out why. My home and work life were going ok but something just wasn't there anymore. I lost interest in things I found enjoyable. Sex included. So with much soul searching I finally went to the Doctors and discussed the issues with them.
I have found the same thing happening again in myself during the resent lockdown. Before it happen I was horny most of the time and the site of another naked man that I found attractive down on the beach would get results. I spent days naked at home touching and re-adjusting my member which is normal.
During lockdown I became very conscious of the a the amount of time I was touch myself down their and the site of a naked man sometimes just left me flat. Knowing the signs to look out for, My sub conscious brain was telling me to easy up a little and stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. Yes my sex drive went down but it was more likely to do with my own body rhymes, Which I have found as I have gotten old come and go in waves. I increased my exercise routine, walking and bicycling more. Enjoying my sleep, eating more regularly and got back into my pre lockdown routine.
Depression creeps up on you and many don't realise what is happening to them. This current pandemic is taking a toll on our mental health. What with constant news reports, Fact and figure on every platform. The loss of human contact. All play their part in effecting the way we look at the world. I have set myself limits on information I allow myself to take in. To much negative stimulus does effect the way you think. So off went the news. Skipped through the horror stories on Facebook and the like. My mind is now in a better place. My sex drive is returning and so will yours given time.
Just don't beat yourself up over it. The more you think negative about it. You only spiral down. Instead look on the positive side. Yes you spending more time naked and enjoying it. The time you do get aroused by a naked man on the beach means the guy must be really hot. Also thing of the next time you are with another guy, you are going to cum loads. Think positive does help.
I think there could be something to the depression theory. But at 58 I can tell you I have experienced many up's and down's in my sex drive over the years. I assume the mind and body on some level either just need to take a break, or just gets bored with it ;-)
