I was diagnose in 1997 with Gluten Intolerance, meaning normal beer was out for me. I went without a pint for seven years when a friend who had a micro brewery had to expand and changed his brewing method and suddenly most of his bottled beer was Gluten-free.
My favourite (and his) is Old Ale. This is brewed by Hepworths in Pulborough, Sussex UK. This is a dark Ale which was a winter brew but so popular he brews it all year round!
Cheers
I also like the reds, browns and darker beers. Trying to keep my "beer gut" in check, I have been wondering about the gluten-free beers and open to trying a few. A part of me considers, much like the non-alcoholic beers, a gluten-free beer sounds almost "sacrilegious" and not "real" beer. Good thing it is a small, little voice and easily ignored. Life is about experiences and who knows where their next "Favorite" beer will come from.
