Gay campgrounds in Florida
Hi guys,
I've had a couple of projects at work that are driving me to burnout, but both of them will be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks, and I'm thinking about taking some time to drive down to Florida and visit either Sawmill or Camp David. I've heard good things about both, but I've never been to either. I would probably be traveling by myself during the week (not on the weekends).
What do you think? Have any of you guys been there, and do you have a preference? I don't really want a party atmosphere, but I wouldn't mind a few people around to talk to. Also, I'm not sure what accommodations would be like during COVID, but I really don't want to be around a large crowd. (Yes, I'm watching the numbers spike and won't go if that trend continues.)
This really would be a de-stress and decompress trip, so the lower the energy, the better.
Thoughts?
Sawmill is clothing optional throughout the campground. They have a great pool and pool area. There is a poolside food, serving from 8 AM to 9 PM . Three bars (one poolside). Nice cabins and camping area.
Camp David is a dump. Run down with nothing nice to speak of.

100% Agree! Camp David also has some health code violations in recent months outside of the COVID. Can not go wrong at Sawmill!
During the summer and on weekends you will get a good mix of ages. Weekdays the retires outnumber the young guys significantly. Have to admit I really enjoyed the older men's company and I was only in my early 30s at the time. Just go and enjoy and you will be welcomed by everyone.
I enjoy going to Vitambi Springs as well. I have been going for years now. I know they are trying to create a safe and healthy place for the guests and taking good measures doing so. (Just got their email update about safety measures).
