Lock out or not?

What does everyone think - will there be a lock out or not? Is the 2011 season in jeopardy? I think both sides are very aware of how much money they will both lose if there is no 2011 season, and will come to a new agreement after a few omnths of theater.

Just heard both sides agreed to extend the talks another week. I still think neither side really wants to cancel the season, so they will eventually reach an agreement after a bit of theater.

Well, maybe the season could be cancelled after all. I read today in the Star Ledger that DeMaurice Smith may push for decertification of the union. If this happens, then the owners will lock out the players. I hope my oriignall assessment is still right - this is all just theater. I do side with the players on health issues, not much on money issues.

Well, the union decertified, the owners locked out the players, and the players are suing. This could get interesting.

Karl, I could not agree more.
In my opinion, the longer this goes on, both sides will feel like the have to make a deal. There is too much money to be lost if there is no season, and still a big chunk if there is a shortened season.
What's everyone else think? Will there be a 2011 season or not?
