45 books read

Well off my average but certainly a good year for reading. About half and half fiction and non-fiction. The nonfiction mostly being travel related adventures. Starting the new year with a book by a woman who is my age. Her and her hubby paddled in northern latitudes for over 20,000 miles. Shorelines and rivers from Alaska to Sweden . Got a stack of cheap thrillers lined up to take with me on my travels soon. I leave them behind as i go. Even though I travel light, I still want to curl up with paper not an electric screen.
How was your reading year?

Seems like lots of folks still prefer paper books. I never liked paperbacks and its easier to read a tablet than a hardcover when eating.

According to Goodreads.com, I read 86 books on my Kindle. I have no idea how many audiobooks, physical books, and non-Kindle ebooks I read, though. I generally have a book in progress on my Kindle, a non-Kindle ebook on my phone, an audiobook for driving in the car, and a physical book for bedtime reading. I guess I can call it over 100 books in 2019, but I don't really know how many.

Old fashioned here. I read all the time including online articles and paper magazines. But truly read books have always been only real paper. The list of read books goes back to 1977 , high school days, encouraged by a teacher for extra credit. Written on simple notebook paper, with title ,author , number of pages and date finished. Fun to look back and see when I discovered an author , etc.

My eyes get "wonky" when I try to read on a screen so I read real books and most of those in large print when available. So far this year I have read eight books so my book-a-week average is on schedule.

In my younger days, I likely had an average like that at times. Now I find I am choosier, which reduces my average. Twenty years ago, I never would have thought I could browse the shelves at the library and only see a few items that I wanted. Now it has happened.
