As a Scotsman living in the US I would have to say..... a peaty, smoky Islay single malt. But I will now contradict myself by saying I have had some delicious Japanese and Indian whisky recently too.
For the Islays, Bowmore 15 and some Laphroaig Cairdeas have given me the most drinking pleasure. I have a younger Bowmore still to open and try!
Favorite is a single malt scotch, Irish like Jameson or most any good bourbon, normally neat. I like varity so I may jump from Knob Creek to Glenfiddich to Bullit Rye! Shoot, if somebody bothered to age it I will give it a try! Please keep the coke, sprite and other crap like that away from my glass. Sometimes a splash of spring water or a couple of ice cubes change the personality. Presently sipping on a single malt Irish. Cant recall the name, but pretty decent.
I think we both speak the same language in spirits! I have the last shot left of the Jameson 18-year, delicious! I also have some Proper Twelve which is smooth and clean for the money. Cheers!
Bourbon. My favorite in Angel's Envy Rye, or regular bourbon, 2nd favorite is Woodford Reserve. In either case, I drink these on the rocks, never mixed. If I want a bourbon old fashion, then I use Bulleit Rye.
My go to are always Crown Royal and Jameson but I've had some really good stuff that was shared by friends. Bulleit for one and a couple from some craft distilleries we've visited recently. Diamond Distillery in Kingman, AZ sells Rum, Vodka and now a Whiskey. We bought some Rum and the whiskey. Small operation and some really good spirits! I'm open to most whiskeys and spirits but not a fan of single malt scotch. Some of the blended Scotches I'll drink but not that big a fan.
Usually neat but on occasion with a rock or two!
