What types of whiskeys are people drinking here?
Whiskey. Whisky. Spirits distilled from grains and aged in charred wooden barrels. Bourbon. Scotch. Japanese. Irish. Canadian. Sour Mash. What is your go-to style? I am a bourbon and single-malt scotch guy with some Irish whisky thrown in for good measure.
Favorite is a single malt scotch, Irish like Jameson or most any good bourbon, normally neat. I like varity so I may jump from Knob Creek to Glenfiddich to Bullit Rye! Shoot, if somebody bothered to age it I will give it a try! Please keep the coke, sprite and other crap like that away from my glass. Sometimes a splash of spring water or a couple of ice cubes change the personality. Presently sipping on a single malt Irish. Cant recall the name, but pretty decent.
Mixed drinks are when you go from a good Porter with dinner to a single malt for desert :)
My tastes vary depending upon my day. What I list , not in any order of favorites. Middleton Very Rare Irish Whisky, Laproig Quarter Cask, Evan Willams Single Barrel and Whistle Pig 12 year cask finish Rye.
Also has a little bit to do with whom I drinking with and the conversations and activites at hand.
I tried this gold bar whiskey yesterday for the first time and it wasn't too bad. though lately I've mostly been drinking woodford reserve and enjoying that.
I'm definitely a bourbon kind of guy and I enjoy a good old fashioned and hot toddy myself!
I have a favorite local bourbon here from the Austin area of Texas. Garrison Brothers. I have been to the distillery and helped bottle some of their batches. Amazing fun two day sof work and great quality bourbon.
