How do you deal with stressful situations?
This is not about a situation in specific, but when, in real life, something occurs where things get really heated up, how do you usually react? Will you walk away to let things ease or will you state/express how you feel, knowing that doing so will maybe even make things worse?
I used to walk away, become silent and not want to approach the situation at all, hoping it would just go away. Not conducive to a healthy relationship with someone that wants to talk about it all the way through. Over time I've worked on that issue and now just take a deep breath and sometimes have to start over. Most times we find it's a misunderstanding, misconception of something quite simple that talking it over calmly will ease the stress.
I dealt with stressful situations for a living at work, I just concentrated and powered through the task that needed to be done. Afterwards, it was helpful to sit and talk about the situation with those that were on scene with me and dealing with similar stress.
