Alaska Hiking
It's been a really nice summer here in Alaska with warm temps and clear skies. I've taken advantage of hiking opportunities, nude of course whenever possible. A few days ago I went to spot called Bear Creek, just outside of Denali National Park. I had a nice afternoon hiking in the tundra above treeline. It was near perfect conditions, warm, no wind and no bugs. I've included a couple of photos including one that shows a huge avalanche from last winter. This area has an avalanche chute that produces these huge piles of snow that last all summer. It's hard to tell from the photo but the snow goes back up the valley about a half mile. Another photo shows a big patch of Fireweed in bloom. I didn't hang around the Fireweed too long, lots of bee activity, the only bugs I saw all day
