2019 at the beaches
Has anyone ventured out yet. Except for the last few days, the weather for beaches has not been all that great. Wondering how the beach did over winter, I am sure the water is already way down. Have the zebra muscle shells been an issue? Let me know, looking to head out in a week or so.
I went to the beaches July long, and it has changed. There is a huge amount of driftwood up on the beaches now, but still a lot of room to find a spot. The channel has almost completely grown in, so water access from there is limited. Crossing the channel is belly button high, so not that bad. There were still a pretty good group of people out the day I went, so it made for a very enjoyable day.
Hope to get out there at least once more this summer. See you there.

If you are coming in from the Patricia Beach side, through the park gate, stay on the road until the end, park as far to the end as you can. Then get to the beach, turn right to go around the bend, and you are there. Maybe a 2 minute walk. There is still lots of room on the beach, but the grasses are starting to move in and there is a lot of driftwood blown in.
Crossing the channel is easy, if you pick the spots and go across the sand bars, you can maybe get your knees wet.
Daily passes can be paid for at the gate, $5.00 I think.
