Talk about Hit and Miss this season

Finally a break in the wind and we are able to get off shore again. Looks like it was a very small window we took advantage of and it is now closed again. Started fishing at midnight. Midnight on the Gulf shows you what Black looks like. We somehow got into very small Red Grouper. Talking 5 to 8 inches. Lots of them. Well grouper fishing should be good there in a few years. Hit a couple more spots finding undersized grouper but larger undersized 15 to 19 7/8 inches. Small Lanes and small mangrove and yellow-tail so we keep searching. Fine the mother load of Mangrove. they are in the chum 20 feet behind the boat. The problem is now we have 15 minutes to catch them before the sky will start to lighten up. Putting them in the boat as fast as we can and the sky starts to lighten up and the bite is over. Just got there to late.Rest of the daylight hours is filled with Red Grouper, Sharks, Huge Blue Runners and one very very large I think Black grouper who loves to eat small snapper. 100% sure it was not a Goliath Grouper as water is clean 30 feet down or more but can not say for sure what grouper it really was.

All and all another great day on the water.

Get out and catch some grouper, snapper, king-fish, permit, tarpon, sharks, and more as they are all biting.
