There are several CO resorts in FLL. They are mostly the older hotels off the main beach drag. Try the royal palms or the grand resort or some nearby hotels. There are also a few groups that have regular meetups in the area. As for beaches, you cannot beat Haulover and the is a new legal beach just north of the area. Im sorry, but I will have to leave the googling to you.

Ps Im in south beach across the street from some European guy gettin an all-over tan on his second floor patioright on Collins Avenue
