I have very different tastes in TV shows..at the moment im getting caught up on a few since I am on vacation this week...yes I know it sounds exciting lol...but Archer on FX is one...American Horror Story is also a favorite, One current show is Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates.
There are more but those are the main ones right now
With having to stay at home we are watching more TV shows and movies than we usually do. The TV shows I am currently watching, when my partner is spending time on the computer, are 'North and South' and '7th Heaven'. And together we are watching the 2004 'Battlestar Galactica' series (almost at the end of the last season) and 'Knight Rider' (all on DVD) :-))
We are re-watching some of the TV series we watched on Netflix and Prime. Right now we're watching Blue Bloods again. We do this periodically when we've finished a season of something and we have to wait several months before the next season comes out for purchase or for free!
We're also digging some of the shows on Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and Showtime. One of our favorites is Jason Bateman's brilliant "Ozark", and we really like watching Tatiana Maslany's multiple roles in "Orphan Black". Just got into the new "Perry Mason" mini-series set in 1930's Los Angeles in which Tatiana also has a role as a Radio Evangelist loosely based on the real life Aimee Semple McPherson. Another series set in the same time/place is the new "Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels". Not only does it also have a fictional radio evangelist character, but it delves into the history of the Mexican-American and pachuco culture set against the racism and police corruption in the developing city at that time. All that topped off with a dollop of evil Nazi infiltrators and creepy supernatural characters!
I'm also a huge GOT fan, to the point that it inspired me to read the books also. Can't wait to read the next one to see how G.R.R. Martin handles what happened at the end of the TV series and beyond. Interestingly, Cynthia who was a medieval history major upon which the whole series is based, could not get into it. Bateman is great in Ozark, but Laura Linney as his wife is just amazing! Some of the twists and turns in the plot and characters keep you on the edge of your seat. We also love Westworld and Watchmen. Speaking of history, I have to admit that there are aspects of black history that I was clueless to, and had no idea about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre until I saw it depicted at the beginning of Watchmen. I thought it was a fictional construct to set the story in motion, until I read that it was indeed real!
We finished watching Game Of Thrones last year (Tyrion is both our favorite character :-)) ). Still don't know, without giving anything away, how to feel about the ending. It was definitely not how I expected it to end.
