We apologise for the short notice but the situation is dire.
Byron Shire Council will decide whether to revoke the clothing-optional status of Tyagarah beach in just a few months.
In March,Byron Naturists were given 6 months to show the beach could be cleaned up, which it has been with much input from our members.
We have also had some wins a local woman fought and WON a charge of obscene behavior for bathing naked at the tea tree lakes near the beach, which police have been patrolling daily.
BUT local landowners campaigning for the clothing optional status to be revoked have hijackeda group originally set up to keep the beach safe. They have the ear of council!
This area is critical habitat not only for naturists but for endangered local fauna.
Once its status is revoked, development will explode from Belongil to Brunswick already TWO proposals are on the drawing board.
Our existing membership is not large enough to sustain the campaign to keep the beach open. We need more active members, NOW.
Please come & share your ideas and your passion for the natural heritage of this region.
When: Sunday July 22, 2pm
Where: Private home (Debs place). For details please message our facebook page
