Why so many people feel the need to fake being a nudist?

Why in the world if you have any interest in being a nudist would you fake it? Damn its not your going to have to work or take a class, just go at your own pace and enjoy it, We have met many in person from our friends list and people from this group. We are just normal people who actually enjoy feeling the sun on our bodies, We are life members at Forty acre club in Lonedell Missouri, been to Rock haven many times, if you have met us give us a shout out and explain why so many people have to fake something they are apparently interested in

RE:Why so many people feel the need to fake being a nudist?

Hoping to make it to your neck of the woods in the future. I'd love to travel there by motorhome, visiting many different nudist venues along the way to a destination and back home again. My wife not so much. Though she enjoys the motorhome, a lengthy vacation in it is not her cuppa tea. Two weeks is about her limit. She talks about getting something bigger, like a 5th wheel, with more slides so we can stay out on the road longer BUT I tell her, you don't want to go out in the one we have, why would we buy something bigger and more expensive. I'd then have to buy a truck to pull it but I'm okay with that purchase! :DDDD

In the mean time enjoy the sun, the club and resorts and the warmer weather. It's good to have you both here!

hi tracy & dan,
I agree with you - why fake it? we know there are plenty of fakes on TN.

Do you think if the owners of TN started 2 new websites: True Voyeurs or True Meat Marketers', a bunch of folks would migrate? :p)

Yes, in the online nudist world there are many fakes unfortunately. But, in the real life nudist world its harder to fake it. Of course some will be nude among us in real life but their behaviour gives them away as not being 'true nudists'. I'm not going to try to define 'true nudists' here, we'll having varying takes on what that means but a lot of our definitions will have common points. Nudism attracts voyeurs, exhibitionists and others who are not real nudists, within nudism there are some nudists who take part in other activities that help to confuse what nudism is really about. We'll probably never lose the association made by some that nudism = swinging, the media and clothing industries, among others, have vested interests in confusing what nudism means. Nudists have different reasons for preferring life without clothing and the places where they live naked, as well as what they do nude, just as other interest group members vary too.

I wish we could just get on with being nudists, in our preferred ways, it is a wonderful way of life, but I'm not sure that nudism will ever shed the associations made with it by outsiders. Living naked is such a simple and natural thing to do, its not real nudists who confuse the issue.

RE:Why so many people feel the need to fake being a nudist?

Well, my late husband and I joined the social nudist culture 26 years ago and immediately joined AANR and TNS. We managed to visit more than 20 resorts and beaches over the years. Even lived in a resort down south for 3 winters. Since I am now a single nudist, I have heard from many guys who are married, but their wives dont want anything to do with the nudist lifestyle - even around the house! NOT A GOOD SIGN! What kind of relationship is THAT??? Also hear from some who are just looking for a hook-up. Obviously they dont get what social nudism is all about.

My wife has always been a willing participant in nudism; at home and backyard nudist for 20 years and a social nudist for 25 years. If something happened to me, I think she'd only continue with social nudism with our small circle of nudist friends but would not venture to the beach or club alone. She's not been a fan of online nudist websites and forums or groups because of the fakes that inhabit these sites.

It's difficult to weed through all the BS and fakes on this site and find good people. I do my best to screen those wanting to join my groups so I can hopefully keep the members of my groups to real, genuine nudists. Dan and Tracy are good people and genuine nudists. Hopefully, Florida2007, you'll be able to hang in there with all the fakes on this site.

There are people who pretend to be nudists, they talk about it but have never tried it, I have known people on here who are just here to look at pictures and they post pictures off the net to try and convince others they are real

Just to tag onto what Dan and Tracy have stated; there are more "fake nudists" than real nudist here. Many of these fakes have blank or nearly blank profile information. They have a default profile picture, which is a silhouette of a man and woman's nude body, no head and the TN logo in the lower right hand corner. Many of these people have sexual type handles or names they go by on this site. They request membership into any and all groups that have a group gallery and they request friendship of all couples and females, mostly, that have pictures in the profile gallery and that are visible only to "friends."

These fakes belong to many groups but never participate in any discussions or they post sexual type responses to general questions. They tend to always take the discussion in the direction of sex. Some of these people will actually post profile pictures that are against TN photo policies and rules. Many of these people are men or men posing as women. There have been a few female fake nudists but they usually can't keep it a secret for very long, before they post a link to a soft porn or hardcore porn website.

Lots of these fakes like to "cam chat" before they even know who you are and they are always asking for you to cam chat naked. They'll ask to swap or share naked pictures. If you're a real nudist and have lived this lifestyle for some time, you can easily pick out those that haven't tried nudism in it's truest sense. They always show their hand and expose themselves for what they really are; creeps, voyeurs and fakes.
