2018 Off Road trips
As our annual Death Valley Boys Trip approaches rapidly and having just returned from a vacation abroad, it's crunch time to get the XJ in shape for the trip! New leaf springs, new battery, water pump, fuel tank hose replacement ... the list is short but costly. I will have rebuilt this little jewel of a vehicle from the ground up for our eldest grandson! He deserves it, he's a great young man.
We're headed back to our original camping site in Ballarat. Our trip seems to coincide with a bike rally each year and they've taken over the RV campground we like to stay at during our 5 day trip .... kind of a best of both worlds; RV accommodations, full hook ups in the evening and early mornings. Rugged, dirty but amazing views and ... manly stuff out on the trails.
Our youngest grandson is so excited about this trip. Each time we've returned, he asks me when the next trip will happen. He loves the fact that "no girls" are on the trip ... ahhhhh youth! :DDD Little does he know that I'd give anything to take my beautiful wife with me on this trip. I do sleep naked and pretty good on this trip but it would be a whole lot better having her naked, sleeping next to me out there! ;D
I enjoy my wife too and I know we need our own time to do things we like but as we get older, it seems like we dislike being away from each other more and more. I think for both of us, it's a comfort and security thing. I think it would be different if my wife didn't like nudism but since she is a nudist, makes doing some of these great trips, without her, not as much fun as they could be.
I do love and cherish these times I'm spending with my grandsons and she knows how much this means to them and to me so we just get through the separation. We've been separated quite a bit throughout our life together. Right after HS, I joined the Navy and was gone quite a bit. After I was discharged, I became a firefighter and was gone quite a bit again. We adjusted and lived that way for most of our married life but now that we are both retired and with each other all the time, seems we enjoy it much more than we thought we might. There was an adjustment period for sure!
We're leaving for a destination wedding in a few days. On our way home, she's agreed to visit those places I take my grandsons each year. The downside is that we'll be in a rented mini van and it's abilities for off roading are seriously limited but I plan to get her out in the middle of the area where we camp and take some great pics of my lovely wife Naked in Death Valley! :DDD
