Nudism is NOT about seeing or being seen at all. As RNB said, "it's about being free from clothing." It is about IMHO de-stressing, relaxing, and getting back to innocence. Even when clothed nudists are nude beneath the clothes. It's a mindset as well as the feel good feeling of not wearing constricting clothing.
So you're saying that the only people who are really nudists are the ones who think exactly the way that you do?
I'm saying what nudism is. You can change it to mean how you feel, but then it would not be nudism.
In a nudist setting, no swinging occurs. But that doesn't mean there aren't any swingers.
In a nudist setting, no oneengages in sexual activityout in the open in front of everyone else. Butsome might when they retire to their tent orcabin, or just plain go home.
In a nudist setting, an exhibitionist in the true sense of the term would be very disappointed to find no one reacting the way they expect to whatever display they make. Which is why he or she would rather "exhibit" themselves somewhere else. But that doesn't mean they don't sometimes visit nudist settings.
The majority of nudists i know, and i suspect also on here are because they enjoy the freedom and all the other things we all say. Some might further appreciate been lloked at, especially younger ones, and some enjoy a touch of showing off.
This is all to me quite normal provided no offence intended or given.
This site seems obsessed with 'pervs' and other names. In most cases thet are complaing about normalm people who are slightly different from the complainers, who of course are also normal people by their own definition.
Posting your picture on a site like this...not so sure.
As I ( and others ) have said many times, that depends on the content of that photo.
The photo that *you* *choose* to post says as much about you as anything.
Some say "Gosh, this is fun !" perfectly innocent.
Some say "Look at me !" and can be again, perfectly innocent, even if exhibitionist to an extent.
Some say "Look at my crotch !" and ( IMHO ) belong on other sites than this one.
Some merely say "This is who I am." and are the ones *I* look for.
Exibitionism can carry many different degrees. If someone wears a very loud tshirt, they are wanting to be seen, to be noticed. ....
Very well observed. Exhibitionism as a behavioural trait is not restricted to the narrow field of human sexuality. The wearer of 'startling' coloured clothing, the owner of the automobile with the loud exhaust system and/or multi toned air horns, the loudly outspoken man/woman at the barbeque, the person who waves their clipboard organising at the church social, the person who decks their house out with 50kilowatts of lights at festive occasions ... these are all examples of exhibitionist behaviour which are not in themselves sexual per se - although may possibly suggest other issues such as a Narcissistic Personality, given that exhibitionistic behavours are most often sources of narcissistic supply for that personality type.

I agree with Mr Rabbit & the defintion he found.
I have been a nudist since I was 15, first at health suits/saunas, steam-rooms & Turkish Baths here in the UK, then on beach holdiays to Europe and here again in UK, & a social nudist in all this time.
I do NOT find just the sight of a human body "thrilling" to be honest. I need to be stimulated "cerebrally", & it never ceases to amaze me that supposdedly "adult" humans cannot cotrol their base instincts.
Erections &/or Exhibitionism, CAN be controlled/treated.
Nudism (or maturistm, if you prefer) is only one aspect of a person. In additopn to being a nudist one can be almost anything else. Some nudists are exhibitionists, most aren't. Exhibitionism is not related to nudism, but many textiles probably believe otherwise. We need better public relations.
