January fishing report so far

Happy New Year!
2018 has been very limited so far due to mostly the wind in this area and this week they are predicting gusts into the mid 30s. Waking up this morning with temps in the upper 40s but we have dad frost warnings and temp in the low to mid 30 a few times. Unlike last year the gulf waters have cooler off into the low to mid 60s most areas. Fishing has been good but nothing is being caught easy. We are working for every fish we put in the box and there have been some big ones. GreaterAmberjack are plentiful and biting. In the gulf waters season ends on the 27th. Lots of Cobia all sizes, same with Red Grouper. All the Snapper are biting as well. When you find a school of large ones catch um up because those schools are few and far between at this time. Looks like there is unlimited large schools of baitfish everywhere. Watch for the birds or the rain on the water, HUGE S CHOOLS! Looks like seven to ten days before there will be anymore off shore fishing so time to get everything else caught up.
