Saline Warm Springs Death Valley
Ok. After reading a great trip review by AndyDi, we are planning a motorcycle trip to Saline Hot Springs in 2 weeks. Hope its not too cold outside. Anybody else into off-road motorcycle riding? Adventure and/or desert riding. This group is the closest thing I can find for this activity. It may be difficult to ride nude but finding far off destinations to be nude would be fun.
Love to get out there again soon but time is running out for me. With these holidays approaching and a few other nude trips planned, it be tough for me to get away for the length of time I'd like to have out there.
We've already begun coordinating next year's trip out to Panamint Springs Resort and mapping out the trails we'll take for those 3 days of 4x4'ing. I think Saline Valley Hot Springs is on the itinerary as long as the non believers or participants in being naked in the hot springs, all go home on Sunday! We'll stay from Friday til Tuesday or Wednesday and that will include a nights stay at SVHS.

Ok. So the trip to Saline Hot Springs was amazing. It was also my first socially nude experience. And it was so comfortable. My wife and I rode our motorcycles in from the North pass. It was a Friday and we noticed we noticed 3 campers and a Subaru making the same trip. It was 38 miles from the pavement where we unloaded the bikes. It was just a day trip so I figured that would get us there and back faster and more time at the hot springs. When we first arrived in our full riding gear I asked my wife if this was the main spring. A nude 20 something woman wearing nothing but flip flops and a smile said I would say so. She was actually very nice. We wandered to the upper tubs and we and saw how nice it was. Greeted by 2 other clothed guys. We talked about the bikes and trip and they told us how the place worked. I was concerned having bikes to disrupt the zen, but we were slow and respectful so no one seemed to mind. So to my surprise my wife said lets just do it. We walk d to a tub with a couple in it and my wife stripped all the riding gear off before I could and jumped in the tub. So naturally I did the same. Had a great conversation. We met so many nice people that we cant wait to go back. I could write a small book on the great time we had. Anyway, thanks for this post as it helped me and my wife with a fantastic experience we will never forget. And we will definitely be looking for someone to call a weekend for another trip.

Our annual trip back to DV is latter part of March. Not sure of the logistics of how I'm getting my grandsons back home so have to wait until we figure that one out before we make the plans for an overnighter or two at Saline Valley Hot Springs. What I'd like to do is leave Panamint and take the motorhome and Jeep over to Big Pine, stay at that campground and come in from the North, like you did. Last time, we came in from the south. We're looking at a few other trails in that area to do our 2 day trip trail drives.
Did you visit the main hot springs pool? That's where lots of people go, sit in the hot tub and then they'll take their blankets or towels and sunbath naked on the lawn area. My buddy found a spot under a tree and took a nap naked. He said ..."best nap I've ever had!" Not sure if it was because of the hot tub soak, the numerous beers or the fact that the nap was naked! :DDD
A long way to go but the spot is worth it and better if you can spend a couple days out there. We were set for two nights but only stayed one. So is your wife feeling better about another social nudism experience?
Yes. We stopped at the main tub first but it was a bit indimidating with about 4 people in the tub and in that canopy area. When we went to the second tub it was more open and the tub to the left had only a couple in it. So that was less intimidating. We then went back to the main tub and just a man was in the main tub by himself so we did hop in. When we got to hot we walked naked to the lawn and did lay down for a nude nap. The only reason I got up was because I thought we would get a sunburn on our white butts. We then walked up to the higher tub in the main spring and met a 50 something couple from Salt Lake City. I had a hard time leaving. We will definitely plan an overnighted next time. We did notice a small campground in Big Pine on the corner of the turnoff. That would be a good spot. I pick d Lone Pine to stay because it had more dining options. But did add a bit to our drive. But I think my nude experiences will depend on my wifes feel of the place. Which is fine because I want to to be an us thing and not just a me thing. She did have a good time there.
We're finding it difficult to find places with RV full hook up spaces available for our weekend. We'll either have to move our dates to April or go back to Ballarat and dry camp. Still depending on logistics and grandsons schedules, they may stay with me or leave with my son in law and in that case, another over night trip to SVHS will surely be in the plans. I wouldn't mind spending a couple nights out there and explore the surrounding area and trails. We'll have to see what the rest of our campers want to do.
I can see how that main pool could be a little intimidating. Being the hardcore nudist that I am, after we found a spot to camp, I got out of my Jeep, stripped and headed down to explore the grounds. My buddy found a single female to talk to and I left him to it. Didn't pan out, she was waiting for her significant other to arrive that late afternoon. Getting shot down, he followed suit and joined me in the main pool. I'd already been walking all over the place before I got in the pool. Those in the main pool smiled, waved, said "hello." Once in the pool, they asked if that was my first time.
We didn't get up to the other pools because the wind blew through the springs area and created a full on dust storm. Those of us in the main pool just hunkered down and road it out. Many others fled to their tents and vehicles ... probably the better idea.
2018 trip is planned and booked! Though we didn't find Full hookup RV spots in the area, we are headed back to our original BLM land camping spot, Ballarat. We'll be there for a Friday, Saturday and then head over to Panamint Springs on Sun, Mon and Tues of that following week. We have Full hookups for those days at Panamint and not sure what trails we'll take out of Panamint Springs.
I'll have my son in law, two of his friends from work, my two grandsons (almost 16 and 8). Not much nude time for me except for sleeping and a trail ride with my buddy, if they all go home on Sunday. I am, however, able to sneak off alone in my Jeep and take some pics of me out there naked with my Jeep before I sell it to my grandson and get a new one! :D
