Enlarged Prostate and what to do about it.
Here is what I've done so far and what I plan on doing to take care of my enlarged prostate.
Now my prostate isn't so large that it is threatening but it does get me up at night and I do make frequent stops during the day. I don't have an erection problem nor any sex difficulties but if I don't take care of my prostate now these problems could be down the road.
Some years ago I found this web site https://www.webmd.com/men/news/20111006/fda-approves-cialis-to-treat-enlarged-prostate and decided to follow the 5mg of Cialis daily regimen. My urologist approves what I'm doing and says that my prostate is actually shrinking somewhat. I buy 20mg Cialis and cut each in quarters. Cilais can be expensive but my health comes first. Funny enough Cialis does very little to help my erection but Viagra does.
About a year ago I read about prostate massage (also known as prostate milking). It used to be a standard treatment before drugs were found to alleviate the drainage problem. But I don't like drugs and they don't usually like me (Cialis is my only exception so far). So I started seeing what I could do about milking my prostate. The devises and procedures are not very effective and I'm looking for another route. I'm looking for a professional, left over from the old days, who can show my wife the does and don't does for this procedure.
What I'd like to know is what you older guys are doing or not doing to help your problem.
Yesterday we experimented with my wife giving me a prostate massage by hand. It was a total success. I was in my 20s again. We'll repeat every week from now on. We'll still visit the Prostate Massage Clinic when we're in Thailand next year. Just to see what we can improve.
I am a prostate cancer survivor. I used proton therapy (University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute). It involved 39 treatments with a proton beam. It reduced my PSA from over 4.00 to .50. I have gone back for yearly checkups and everything seems OK now. I still have a prostate, but it is smaller. I go back next month for my 8th checkup. I am interested in that prostate massage you talk about. I tried Cialis with not much result to anything but my pocketbook. Maybe I need to try Viagra. I was unaware that there was a prostate massage clinic in Thailand--very interesting.
