Upcoming trip to Haulover

Hi everyone. I'm considering a trip to Haulover May 25 - May 30. Any suggestions for places to stay? In the past I've stayed in the North Beach area and took the bus in, but I'm open to suggestions.

I was in Miami the end of Feb. for a conference. At the end of my vacation I moved to a hotel near the Fort Lauderdale Airport, the Red Carpet Inn. It is reasonably priced, and 12 miles from Haulover Beach. I had a rental car so I drove myself to the beach. It costs $6 to park during the week and $7 on weekends. From what I have read online there is a bus that goes down Collins Ave. that you can take to Haulover beach.
