Winter in the Midwest

Hello all!

Wife and I are new nudists and so far we've found it to be enjoyable and incredibly relaxing!

A question for those of you in the Midwest, Northeast or other cold climates: How do you stay warm in the Winter? What temperature do you put your thermostats at? Do you spend a fortune in heating costs?

We've been cranking the heat up to around 74, using space heaters and wearing a robe if we're still chilly.

Any tips on how you stay warm during the winter months?

Sounds like you have the right idea. Those are the same things I do.

I'm a Yorkshireman, so at the moment, I'm naked under clothing :-)

What we like to do is snuggle up on the sofa with a soft blanket. Doesn't cost a penny

OK so Yorkshiremen are famous for being careful with their money - not spending it. I live in Yorkshire too. It is cold outside. So I crank up the heat - to 21C or (70F for you Americans). That way I can be naked in comfort. I'm one of the best customers for the company that sells me heating LPG.

We turn the heat to about 70-71F. To conserve energy we program the thermostat to go down to 65F during the day and 68 at night. When it's chilly just wear and open robe.

I came out in a cold sweat just reading that. You could have warned me LOL

I am surprised that Yorkshire hasn't been made part of Scotland so all the tight fisted people are in one country !!!!!!!

The other thing to consider is humidity in your house.. It might be extra chilly because the humidity has gone low. Steve

This time of year I wear loose fitting flannel pants and shirt. That layer of fabric provides enough comfort that's the next best thing to being nude at home in Winter.

I live in the north woods, I know what you are up against. I struggle with justifying the cost (monetary and environmental costs) of keeping a house at naked-comfort temps when it's zero outside. A few concessions--lower the temp when you're both gone, maybe justifies a little extra warmth for a few evening hours. Also, Donald Ducking is a good alternative to totally bare. I find that my torso feels chilled when my lower body doesn't and I get a lot of the same enjoyment of less restrictive clothing. Enjoy your new nudist lifestyle. Patience is important when you're a northerner! (Does not apply if you're in Australia or NZ, of course).

Contrary to popular belief, The Scot's and Yorkshire folk are amongst the most generous, especially when it comes to charities, but for God's sake don't tell anyone LOL
