GOAL!
So many people walking past the open gates of the club as I was taking my photos!
Maybe too late for this advice. I recommend you go really yearly (sunrise) so there is enough light for the photos. Take a ball. Set a timer, or take a vide and extract a frame.
What you need...set the camera at about 23-30 yards, dead center behind the penalty spot. Take a few penalties and put them in the corners. Barefoot if you can, with just boots if you need them or want them. Hopefully you get a good shot of the ball going up to the corner with a good followthrough on your kick.
Now you have me motivated. I'd set a 1 second interval timer on a DSLR but also have your phone take a video. If you're lucky enough to have the DSLR catch you at the right moment, fantastic. If not...extract the frame that looks best. Quality will be lower, but the shot should be cool. Take as many penalties as you can get away with.
One more bit of advice, when the camera is set and snapping away every second, and the phone is taking a video while you're at it...then you are free to ignore the camera and phone. Just dive into the experience, live it, feel it. That's a big trick. When taking photos, one is often focussed on the photo being taken, forgetting the actual experience. the experience is actually more important than the photo. The photo is to share, or to reminisce, but the experience is for you to cherish and remember.
To quote Londosun "When taking photos, one is often focussed on the photo being taken, forgetting the actual experience. the experience is actually more important than the photo. The photo is to share, or to reminisce, but the experience is for you to cherish and remember" Exactly. I went for a walk to my local beach on Monday, (being a superb spring day) hoping to get a photo or two. I found the beach virtually deserted, except for a couple and a few surfers. No dog walkers either. So after rounding the first bluff, there was not a soul in the next bay which was nearly a kilometre long, so I took the opportunity to get a few nude photos in the glorious sunshine. As no one seemed to be about I walked along the beach taking more photos. In the total time I was there nude, it was exhilarating. It was possible that someone could round either bluff etc. The experience left me in a high mood.
Great to see the "goal" pics etc and your wonderful sense of humour.
