RE: Potential Nudists

First of all, I wouldn't use the term nudist.

When staying with your friend / her mum, be relaxed, and also
comment on how it's nice to see how relaxed her mum is in this day
and age. Mention that you're often "relaxed" when at home.
I'm sure she'll get the point without being offended. Then, it's up
to her.

I would love to invite the neighbours to join us. Not necessarily
because I want them to join us, but if they did, then Mar and I
would no longer have to worry about being seen. The
neighbours on the other side, and over the back cannot see into our
garden anyway.

I believe my in-laws know that I'm a nudist, but nobody is willing
to take the next step and let me be naked when they're staying. There's absolutely no chance that either of them would join us

RE: Potential Nudists

It's certainly a tricky subject to bring up that's for sure. I've been thinking about this topic and then I thought about how I came to enjoy being clothes free. No one got me into it, it just happened, maybe others could do with a gentle push, it's a complicated subject if you really take the time to think it through. I think with your situation, if she knows you're a nudist then it'd be relatively easy to bring it up and if she's interested why not take the plung and ask her if she wants to try it?
You could be like her Spirit Animal or something!

I think some people are born to do it and others may need a helping hand.

RE: Potential Nudists

Have you ever had a friend who is not a nudist but sometimes you wonder if he/she would be open to it? It is something I ask myself often. I guess the real question is how to you bring that up for discussion? One of my good friends Lena, I knew her a long time and always say at her house and vise versa. She knows I am a nudist but its not something she will go around and tell anyone. One thing I always notice is how casual her mother is. What she will wear when I am over. She will come out of the shower or something and just hang out in a robe which may occasionally opens up and she never seems to mind. I always get a sense that she would be open to such a lifestyle but also fear I would be wrong and offend her by bringing it up. It is that fine line you have to walk i guess as a nudist sometimes. Does anyone know of someone like this? Have you ever thought to ask about it? If so, i would love to hear how you brought up the topic and how it worked out.I have a co-worker who is a Facebook friend. I have a lot of nudist pages on my profile. She has mentioned it more than a few times about the freedom of being nude at home, and the stigma attached to public nudity equating to sex.Work is not the best place for the discussion, but everytime I go to the office (I work from home) she brings it up.After I got home last night the thought revisited my mind, and I send her a text message. I started by stating how awkward the text content is, and I said since we both like to be nude, maybe we can hang out sometime. I said it would be fun.
She thought it was a great idea. So we are planning our meeting.

Have you tried to get Lena to delve into her mums perchance of
nudist feelings, pity you don't have a nudist resort pamphlet you
could show by saying it was dropped in your letterbox. Might be all
you need to start discussing the topic Linny.

It might also be the fact that women arena little bit freer in there dress habits when around other females. I know because my wife would wear translucent dresses at her mums place but that stopped when they employed a man servant.

It seems that I remember back when I joined TN there was a feature that would allow you to send an anoymous email to people you thought might be potential nudists. The messages were something like, " A friend of yours who is a member of Truenudists thinks you might be interested in nudism and invites you to check out the Truenudist website."

RE: Potential Nudists

When younger I was quite open about sharing my enthusiasm for nudism, telling friends and even co-workers. Almost without exception they'd react with a sort of snicker, as if to say ''my, my, you can't be serious", or something similar. I'd maintained that society had programmed them to react that way--after all, nudists were the subject of jokes or cartoons and nothing more! I'd then continue, describing the freedom of swimming and hiking nude and basking in the sun. Once they saw how persistent I was their reactions would change, most saying that it sounded like something they always thought would be neat to do but didn't know how to find places for nude recreation. Quite a number of friends became sometime nudists, several even members of a local Nudist Club.. .
That was back when I was in my 30's and early 40's. I'm now 70, and I think folks today are a lot more open in their responses. After all, there are any number of well advertised nude events which didn't exist back then. Visible organizations such as The Naturists have done a lot as well. When I mention it to my peers now they react differently. No one questions whether I'm joking or serious, some have tried it, others haven't, no big deal. I guess that says that we nudists are a lot more mainstream today and the public, in general, are aware of nudist clubs, beaches and activities. Some have even participated and today are open about discussing it compared to some forty year ago.

RE: Potential Nudists

The husband of my friend. When my friend was dating this guy,
sometimes we would meet at the home of the parents of my friend at
the pool and often jokingly said we had one day swim naked. They
married one year ago, but the first months of their marriage lived
in the house of the parents of my friend. She told me that
sometimes he could not sleep and passed bad nights and did not know
why until one day told me that bachelor slept naked, but for pity,
not to because I was newly married and he was sorry to his now wife
and in-laws. I suggested that since that night I did wake up and
before my friend was put on only his underwear. Now that you live
at home, my friend came to tell me I was one day when she comes out
sometimes finds his naked back asleep. I know that maybe the only
likes to be as sleep and is not a nudist, but I think the
lifestyle you would like to try.

If that ever happens again with the towel or similar just say don't worry but the towel will feel better without it :) and she probably will :)

Maybe it's just me but I would have loved for a friend to talk to me about nudism .

RE: Potential Nudists

although its not the same thing, it's sort of connected, and i have wondered recently if my neighbours who only live 2 doors away might be nudists. there have been a few occasions when i'm approaching my home, and just as i'm turning into my property, you can see into their living room. i don't know if it's my imagination, a trick of the light, or both, i swear i have seen someone standing there naked. they are an older couple and the first time it was him i thought i saw with his back to me and the next time, it may have been her. i,m sure it really is just a combination of imagination and light playing tricks, but it's nice to wonder WHAT IF.
