Grooming Question

This morning before taking a shower I figured it might be a good idea to nair the hair on my chest. Sometimes it's a razor other times nair. Well for the second time I got pretty bad chemical burns. Previously, for the last decade or so I've used Nair for Men with no issues.

Anyone have any suggestions on other options? I've thought about waxing but have no idea how that works, if it's really painful or how long it might last.

Considering Lazer Hair Removal but haven't made a final decision on it yet.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated...

RE: Grooming Question

I use Majic shaveless hair removal cream. I found it to be less irritating. I havnt tried it on my chest though. But it is made for beards so it may be an option for you.

RE: Grooming Question

I used to totally shave chest, arms, and legs. It's too much for me now though, so I just let it be. For the face though I do Afta pre-electric+electric razor and it makes shaving the face so much easier and cheaper. Bladed razors are expensive unless you are buying the super cheap ones.
This isn't really the topic, but in my opinion the topic of body hair is all subjective. From that thought there if you are single and questioning if body hair is okay you can go read some blogs where people praise body hair. However, if you partner has a preference that you shave parts of your body smooth, I suppose that changes things. Good luck.

RE: Grooming Question

I have my chest and back waxed. It can be a bit painful but lasts longer and there's no stubble. Laser hair removal only works in you have dark hair. Lighter, gray, or blonde hair can't be removed as easily.

RE: Grooming Question

Another plug for the Majic shaveless hair removal products. I
bought all 3 of their types and also the powder. They make a
creme in standard, for bald heads, and extra strength. I
tried the standard first all over and it did not do anything
anywhere except my armpits. Next the Bald head with same
results. Maybe a little off my belly or legs. Then the extra
strength was tried and left the full max 7 minutes. It worked
but left some burning on my nut sack. I have used it a few more
times and left it only 5 minutes with good success. I then tried the
powder. Man what a good product. Not really hard to mix and goes on
much better and has a bit less of the funky smell. 5 minutes
and it works all over .I like to be smooth so I use it every 4 or 3
days depending where the weekend shows up. Cheaper also! Give
it a try. Good luck

I use this on my chest, belly, crotch, and balls. I've never had any irritation wit it.

RE: Grooming Question

I've never really had a problem with my chest hair. In fact some women have said that they love it because it's so soft. My problem is on my back and the backs of my upper arms. I have a difficult time reaching some of those areas for satisfactory hair removal. I'll have to try some of these items to see if I can get better results.

RE: Grooming Question

I'm sticking with waxing. It lasts 5-6 weeks and even that last week before a follow up treatment, the hair is quite fine and barely noticeable and doesn't feel like the stubble from shaving.
I recently had a treatment and added my upper arms and my back. My wife loves the smooth back and so do I. I like what my aesthetician did with my upper arms as well. I had patches of hair and she removed them and I like the fact that I don't have those patches of hair that I was occasionally pulling at.
In about a month, I'll return for another wax treatment and I will add my butt and upper thighs to my hair removal routine. One thing I have noticed is that, when I had back hair and some hair on my upper arms and butt crack, the towel glided much easier over those parts after a shower. Not a big deal. I prefer the smooth skin and don't mind patting myself dry now! :D

RE: Grooming Question

I use an electric razor once a month to the chest, stomach and legs. Then a razor once a month to the pubic area with a bi weekly touch up for the boys. It works out perfect and razor burn is never an issue.

How painful is waxing? I don't mind having body hair, but I don't like having back hair, specifically.

Since you get waxed regularly, is it cost effective compared to just shaving, or is this more of a "you get what you pay for" quality of life decision?
