Nude gardening with gloves on.

One of the few times I have had a chance to do nude gardening this year, I was working in the vegetable patch part and as there was stinging nettles which needed to be removed, so I put gloves on to do this and they felt if my naked body was complaining as they felt so un-comfy on me, what I never notice when I have cloths on when it is too cold to garden nude.
Dose other people find the same.

I always try to garden without gloves or shoes on. The microbes and bacteria in the soil are actually good for our body. We have become a germ-phobic society that is afraid to get dirty and/or blasts everything with anti-bacterial soap afterwards. BUT, if I'm going to be working around the stinging nettle or in the raspberry bushes I will wear gloves - but I do it out of necessity, not because I like it.

I wear gloves when rose pruning or blackberry removal. My skin reacts badly to thorn scratches. Except for certain weeds, I find bare hands when weening to be more successful. Again shoes or thongs to prevent foot damage in our Aussie native garden. But often in the English rose garden area, bare feet! I love gardening nude, but will not suffer for the pleasure.

There is nothing like gardening nude. But there are conditions that warrant protection such as roses, blackberry bushes, stinging nettles, poison ivy just to name a few. One has to wear theappropriate protection so one doesn't have scratches, allergic reactions, and down right bad cuts.Grass whipping, and cutting the lawn are two more reasons to have protective gear on. Oh and sun protection for those of us who have fair skin and are prone to skin cancer and sun burn. But generally most of my gardening is sans everything.

When I garden naked I'm totally naked. There are ways of grasping a nettle without being stung or a rose or thorn bush without being pricked. Ok sometimes I get it wrong and have to extract a thorn.

I'll wear what I need - which, for working with a shovel in the sun, might be gloves, heavy shoes, hair restraint, and a hat. I just think of the clothes as tools, and they don't bother me.
