I am not fond of bras either. I am not terribly big so i often get away without one. If I do wear them, its in a romantic context and I'm wearing lingerie. If I do wear one I prefer the light, front-fastening type or a sports bra for working out. Overall, I prefer to make do with camisole or a tank top. If people can tell, I don't care. I'm not flaunting it so I feel like I don't owe an apology or explanation to a sole.People in the US are hung up on "what other people are doing" which is very weird in a society that prides itself on individual freedom. One only has to look at the recent wave of "anti-transgender bathroom laws". Why do some people think that persecuting a monority is defending others? (OK I'm waaay off topic). My basic point is, if you cover your self properly, I think its fine to not wear a bra, no matter your size.I've found women who are larger tend to like what bras do for them. I say rock on sister!
I'm not fond of wearing bras, but they do help to hide nipple show through, and keep them from eventually sagging too much. I usually wear them while being active(sportsbras), or dress up!
Margo, you're awesome girl, sticking up for minorities with the bathroom use issue! Seems the US does have a problem with hypocrites n bigot's. Unfortunately it's everywhere!
I say to each herhis own!Alison
That is a very good point. Bras do help hide your nipples and not be to showy
Some dresses have an elastic around the breast area so you don't have to wear a bra. My gf, just bought a short sundress and it had straps on them too. I'd told her not to wear a bra and not have those straps on her shoulders. She said she felt she was almost naked walking around. Her breast were still supported up but still hung a little.
I have a few dresses like that that I wear for work. That helps a lot when they are made like that.
Just my two cents. But my wife and most of the lady's I know, don't like to wear them when they are at home. As soon as they get in the door, off come the bra......
I know a couple that are like that as well. I don't think it is that uncommon.
Also, if anyone has some funny moments evolving being bra less or someone who braless do share. Not need to keep it totally serious.
Although my breasts aren't massively big I've never been a great fan of bras when I decided I was to become a nudist I also chose to banish all underwear including panties(except when essential),I must say it's made me feel more comfortable and confident, the drawbacks are my nipples do show occasionally and on windy days you can show a little more than you bargain for, but on the plus side I'm not constrained and feel closer to nature when clothed, but most people are used to me now so it's not a big drama around people
Hey thanks for your response. Being a nudist I feel the same way. I also do feel more confident in myself. I do however still wear a bra when company is over at home. You don't? And when you meaning showing on a windy day, you meaning popping thru your top or a breast actually falling out lol I would be all red faced if that happened.
I love the candidness of the ladies in this thread. I have brought up the issue of being braless on this site and others, and I never get any responses. Perhaps a lady has to bring it up.
I understand some ladies need the support a lot, like my wife does, but I can't imagine wearing one most of the time if I were a female naturist. For me, naturism is mostly about being comfortable, and although I suppose women get used to them, it seems to me that bras would be uncomfortable. My wife's bras are old and flimsy, and perhaps that's why she's more OK with them. She wears them until they're worn out completely...I mean damn near in shreds, even though I ask if if we can get her something better for her work days that's more supportive.
This summer some, the kids will be all grown and away more, and it will be interesting to see if she relaxes more clothing wise. Perhaps I can even talk her into trying nudist relaxation indoors and only be partially clothed outdoors like when gardening.
I'm a long time nudist and now retired so can remain braless most of the time. We live in a small conservative town so find that in many cases I need to put a bra on before we go out. Got to contain those sagging 38Cs! It comes off again when we get home.

My wife and I have been married for 40 years and I have never seen her wear a bras once. Her comment in the very distantpast about this is if one is worried about ones nipples showing, wear an undershirt otherwise why wear a bras?
