Companion planting
I did an experiment once that demonstrated the legume effect. I planted a row of carrots intercropped with radishes. The same day, I planted another row of carrots, intercropped with fava beans. A month later, the carrots in the fava bean row were twice the size of the carrots in the radish row.
That is amazing, I will have to try it.
I always plant peppers and tomatoes together - peppers close together, tomatoes interspersed and staked. No tomato worms for two years straight and the tomatoes shelter the peppers from the wind which keeps them upright.
I do it in a raised garden - easier on my back.
hi there ive done companion planting for a few years now with some good results, also it uses the land more effectivl. Try marigold flowers in with carrots as they draw carrot fly, A good book to read about companion planting is Carrots love tomatoes & Roses love garlic
