someone posted in the forum section that tthe deputy prime minister in the uk has ask for citizen imput on what laws need to be done away with, WHAT A GREAT IDEA. i hope it works for them maybe america politician will wake up, yeah right they want total control here. haveothers noticed how europe is abandoning their socialist view and we are adopting them, i would like to see more of a libertarian type government with less control and less involvement of the government into our lives.
I'm lucky to live where nudity on any beach is not against the law. Yes lucky me.
But if you want to change laws there is only one way, that is to get together. Politicians will take notice of any group who they think will affect their chances of getting/staying in power. Your problem is in getting your people together.
Startlobby groups and when you have the numbers the politicians will sit up and take notice.
In England it is not illegal to be nude. But you can still be arrested for public nudity if someone finds your nudity offensive and reports you to the police. A new law is in the process of being approved by parliment which will mean its not only someone who sees you nude who can do this, but someone who finds the idea of people being naked offensive. So public nude beaches will be threatened by this, someone could report that they find the idea of nudists at a beach offensive. This new law is not just aimed at nudism, its aimed at a wide range of public order issues, nudism is one of many activities that may be threatened by it. Its aimed at anti-social behavior, if thats vandalism or many other similar anti-social matters thats fine by me.
But its ill-thought out and is a catch-all law. If I and a group of nudist friends are enjoying nudity in one of our gardens where no one else can see us, but someone who has heard that we are nude there and finds this offensive without seeing us naked, could report us to the police. Crazy! Personally I think if it becomes law its going to clog up the legal system and will be unworkable, hopefully it won't get passed as it is currently. Numerous crazy things come to mind that neighbours could 'claim' to find offensive about each other.

I'd like to see private businesses be able to allow nudity on their premises if they see fit to. For example, if the local Y wanted to hold nude swimming hours from 9-12 on a Sunday, let them. They could post signs warning folks that an area is clothing optional or nude so offence of those who dislike public nudity can be averted.
Years ago there were swims at the Y where the rule was men and high school boys only nylon suits or no suits. I often swam nude. However when the economy went bad and prices rose it was decided to merge the YWCA with the YMCA. Suits of any kind were required. I mourned the end of my skinny-dipping days until I found out about a nudist campground near me and became a nudist
I want a US Constitutional Amendment that declares nudity an inalienable right. I believe that if the US founding fathers knew how nudity would be treated today, they'd have put it in the bill of rights.
Spain's Constitution includes nudity as an inalienable right.
I like your line of thinking, but take it one step further...
In representative democracies, like the US & NZ, representatives are employees of the Voters. They're not "in power," they don't "lead." They do the work they're told to do & follow instructions of the Voters.
Once the Voters stop with the language of power, lead, lawmaker, etc and start using ones more like employee, follower, and law writer the representatives may start fearing for their job. Of course, this means Voters will have to spend less time staring at baking shows & start paying journalists to help us read policy proposals & official statements.
It's a common problem with "it's just vernacular" but shows how people *really* think of things. (My biggest pet peeve is "girl" vs "woman") Any 3rd yr psych student will tell you, changing the words used absolutely reflects a change in how someone thinks... and snowballs in on itself to continue to change the language used.
Circling back to the OP, yes, lobby everyone in your life (a often overlooked portion of a citizen's duty) to support a repeal of anti-nudity laws and then collectively inform the representatives you expect them to do the work assigned to them. Should that employee fail to do that work, a new employee is always available to fill the position.

I am very interested to hear why the 1st amendment is not working for us all together because it makes freedom of our expression legal for our expression!
