Full Nudity Rides?
We live in northwest Mississippi and are seeking a WNBR event where full nudity is legal. I know the one in Seattle is fully nude, but really want to find one closer!
I've reached out over the last few years to some of the listed event coordinators for various areas, but either don't hear back or hear that the ride isn't nude, it's bathing suits.
Are there any genuine nude rides close to the middle of the country???
Check the WNBR website for locations ... some of them are out of date... Also check YouTube for videos of previous rides. Although, many riders are not naked, the typical slogan is *Bare As You Dare*... Some cities/police, are more tolerant than others about when/where you can be full nude. I have greatly appreciated the people of Columbus, OH, where I have attended rides, in the past, for the latitude they allow us... :-) I don't know how far you want to drive, but St. Louis, MO and New Orleans, LA are possibilities. Here's an example of NOLA 2016. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcUjtdfDzaY You will have to log-in with an adult account to see it.
There are lots of WNBR New Orleans videos on YouTube, and judging from those videos, full nudity is OK there, and N.O. police escort the ride, so I assume it is OK with N.O. police. The last few years it has started and ended at Mickey Markey Playground east of the French Quarter and has gone through the Quarter.
I rode last JUNE in NEW ORLEANS naked ride.. was 1.5 hours or there about and 4 miles thru town and French quarter...SOme completely naked some accessorized- Me open fronted leather jock and my MR LEATHER sash... LOVED IT]. Incredibly liberating thing to do.. THis year will be JUNE 9 2018
I'm well aware that full nudity is viewed as a big no-no in certain parts of the USA by both the 'authorities' and textiles. This thread brought home this fact strongly, World Naked Bike Rides where full nudity might not be allowed! I'm also aware that the rides are not nudist events, they're protests against carbon fuels etc.
We've been on a good number of these events in England, from large events like the London rides with several thousand participants in front of many, many thousands of onlookers to ones in smaller towns with about 50 riders with shoppers stopping briefly to watch the ride pass by. The rides have all included people wearing fancy dress to full nudity, we've done them all fully nude without any issues. We go on the rides because we care about our planet and also want to enjoy the chance to be nude in places we'd normally risk arrest. Its a way of saying to the wider public that nudism is about more than just being naked, as well as that nudists can co-exist well alongside textiles and that we see no shame in being seen to be nudists. We've seen videos of rides from around the world, including the USA, full nudity is seen in most of them, sometimes more commonly than in other places. There are countries where the rides do not happen, protests might not be welcome and public nudity is truly a big no-no. Its a shame that some places in the USA approach the rides in a manner more similar to the latter situations than what the more enlightened places there, and much more widely in Europe, do.
10,000 bike riders ... probably a WNBR my wife would actually partake in. She'd like the ability to just blend in with the naked crowd. Portland is a city we've visited a few times but never spent much more than an hour or hour and a half in. Our friends that live close by don't like going into Portland so if we ask to go, it's been for a short visit to their Open Air Market. Time to visit on our own!
I thought when and if a naked bike ride is organised, full nudity would be allowed legally and the necessary administrative approval obtained?
I attended two such naked bike rides (smaller version, less participants) about 5 years back in Australia and we weren't told we could not be fully nude. So most of us went fully nude while some were not and not all of us painted or decorated our bodies (again optional).
I completed both rides safely and enjoyed them, together with all the other participants.
I participated in the WNBR in Boston this past July and it was mixed with full nudes and some topless and others clothed. Although technically illegal according to the announcement at the start, we rode by a police cruiser during the ride and no problems. It was a great time, about two hours riding through all of Boston.
