The spirituality of nudism
I had first gone to a nude beach back in 1988, IIRC. This was a nude beach not far north of the NASA launch site in Florida.
I was twenty years old at the time, and I went to see nude girls, of course. And while there were plenty of girls there, I discovered something that I did not expect.
It didn't take long for me to discover that I felt unusually relaxed at the nude beach. It was not unlike a Zen experience. I felt my ego-boundaries slip away and felt more of a connection with my surroundings. I think that I had even experienced the sound of the waves crashing against the shore more than at any textile beach. I can only describe my experience as a "spiritual" experience.
How about you?
For me the spirituality of nudism manifests itself not on a crowded nude beach or resort, but when I'm alone naked in nature; preferably the forest or a mountain. For me it's very "Daoist"; I completely become part of nature, no more no less.
All things carry yin and embrace yang. They reach harmony by blending with the vital breath.
[Tao Te Ching chapter 42]
Something like that.
