Go VOTE!

Please go vote!
When the time comes, do not miss this opportunity to elect someone who you think should be leader of this country for the next 4 years!
Do not say, "I do not care" or "My vote does not count". If all the people that say that DID go vote, there would be millions more voices heard.
I am not here to tell you who to vote for, that is up to you.
So...please...PLEASE......
go vote.
Thx

RE: Go VOTE!

Totally agree kijad!

I just hope that people use the squishy thing above their ears before they vote and not vote on emotions only. Too much crap on both sides of the aisle. See who the adult is and see if you agree with their positions.

RE: Go VOTE!

Because of the Electoral College, it is useless for some people in some states to vote for President. Example: California will go to the Democrats regardless of who the Republican contender is. What you can really do with your vote is to try to find people who are worthy of your vote who are running for the lesser offices. Major politicians come from the minor politicians. A bad councilman may become the next bad mayor, and then the next bad congressman, etc. etc. Therefore always try to stop the sleaze before they get a foot in the door. What I am saying here is; yes, your vote counts. Do not go to the polls to just vote for the President. Go to the polls and elect the next great dog catcher or county commissioner. That is where your vote counts most.

The thing most people that criticize the electoral college do not realize is that is actually gives small states more clout than they would have if voting were done only on population and the founding fathers purposely designed it that way. The reason is that if voting were done only on population then based on representation in the house small states would have the equivalent of 1 vote but the electoral college says they get the the equivalent of the number of representatives plus senators thus three times the amount of influence they would have if based only on population. Yes, large states like California get the two extra electoral votes as well but that is a small drop in the bucket and does not multiply it's clout.
I'm not saying it's perfect but going to a strictly popular vote system would further diminish the influence of the small states. Personally, even though I am from California I believe the small states should get that little bit extra influence.
