Why do people find it strange that a Republican couldn't also be a nudist?
For me, being a Republican is more about fiscal responsibility, although that ground seems to be becoming more and more blurred these days. I consider myself a fiscal conservative, and a social liberal. I know, sounds strange, but really to me, it makes perfect sense. I believe in a hands off approach in government, where people work for their living, earn their keep, I understand giving to people who can't honestly do for themselves, but there are in my opinion, far to many who live off the system, when they are perfectly capable of working, they choose not to, and that to me, is just wrong. There you go, I stood on my soapbox, now I believe I will step down.
As for being a nudist, for me it is about relaxation. For me, there is something very relaxing and natural about social nudism. Everyone, no matter what walk of life they come from, once the clothes are shed, everyone is an equal. For me, that is very freeing and relaxing.
I agree, my views are very similar to the ones you describe, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I think the problem is the far right who now have many thinking the Republican party is made up of religious zealots. It is amazing how a small group can hijack a party but it has happened to both parties, the extreems seem to control the platforms.
NudeInMa, Love your posts. Couldn't agree more....as a nation we are in dire straights. I am very concerned about the drection we are headed. I have to remind myself that God has a bigger, and far better, plan in the works.
I am a fiscal conservative and a social moderate. Although I am registered as a Republican, I have a lot of Libertarian leanings. I believe the various federal and local governments are far too intrusive.
I am also a Christian, and believe the best way to enjoy God's creation is the way he created us - nude.
Welcome to the closed mindedness of humans. They think one thing about something, then they think that's all to it. Anybody can be anything. Political affiliation or religion or spiritual beliefs, etc have nothing to do with the person's interests, hobbies, and lifestyle choices. Plus let's be honest, the stereotype of republican being virgin pussyless prunes, is semi common. Not as much as it used to be but there are still some Hank Hills out there
How can you be a fiscal conservative and a social liberal.? I hear that all the time but I find its a way to cover up helping people who need help.
And just wait until the Republicans take away nude sites.
