Ministers/Clergy
I have served as a local church pastor in the United States for greater than 10 years. Currently, I serve as a church planting missionary in Europe. The openness throughout most of Europe for nudism/naturism at beaches is great. My wife does not share my convictions in this area of Christian freedom and God's grace, but it is a topic that we return to time and again. Due to a special circumstance in my life (medical condition), I do spend a fair amount of time at home nude. Application of medicine requires it -- I hope to think that has helped her thinking to be softened some. She has been more willing to be nude at home also, but not as much as I would like.My church affiliation is conservative, evangelical Christian. The knowledge of my convictions/preferences concerning naturism is limited -- unfortunately. Within my organization, I have spoken carefully to a couple of people. My past supervisor did not argue with my conclusions based upon Biblical exegesis, but advised caution -- supporting donors might not respond well.
I was a volunteer with the chaplins' at some local jails and prisons in my area for 16 years. I have to say, you do see some nude inmates at times. Being that nudity was no big deal for me it was never an issue. Talking with a nude man who is on suicide watch did happen a few times. All on suicide watch have there clothes taken from them and given a paper gown. The gown falls apart very easy then you are left with nothing but standing there completely naked with the light always on and the camera on with someone watching you all the time. I do not know if a volunteer that has a problem with nudity would talk with one of these men who need and want someone to talk to at this point. Matthew 25:36 Ask your fellow church goer what about these men?
