Evening Nude Dancing in the Clubs and Lounges
I thought I'd ask this here as well as on the BN boards, to get the possibly different opinion of TN members who have cruised with BN before since you may also have visited land-based nude resorts and can make a comparison. In reading through the BN message boards and seeing a limited set of pictures from past cruises, it seems there may be less nudity (at least away from the pool deck) than we first assumed there would be on these cruises. Are most passengers at the dance clubs and lounges (on deck 5) dressed in their theme night costumes or otherwise dressed? This spring at our first nude resort experience (at Club Orient) we were told by someone we met there that nude dancing would sound quite strange at first, but that we would grow to love it. They invited us to sit with them for dinner and dancing that first night and they were right we thought it sounded strange and couldn't understand why anyone would want to dance nude. But by the time we went to Nudestock at Laguna del Sol in September, we realized that we did grow to really enjoy it. And now we are wondering if we would be out of place in the deck 5 clubs and lounges if we wanted to dance nude. Does BN run extra evening dances up on the pool deck to allow nudists to have the dancing they are used to from the land-based resorts? Or maybe the ratio of clothed to nude isn't as bad as the few pictures have lead us to believe in the lounges?
Maybe it is unfair to try to compare this cruise with a land-based nude resort. The freedom we will have on the pool deck alone will make this a much more memorable cruise than a textile one. It is just that nude dancing has become for us a really fun activity when we are at the nude resorts and we would love to experience it on the cruise as well without feeling like we are some kind of militant nudists who are still nude when it is inappropriate.
Also, since there are no kids on this cruise, does the Club O2 get changed over to a regular dance club or does it go dark? And does the Serenity deck just wrap around to what would have been the kids pool area, or does this area just get shut down?

Hi folks, This is Jim and Judy here. We have cruised with Bare Necessities once before - on the Royal Clipper this last June. We had a great time. We also have been to Club Orient the last two years and have truly enjoyed Club O and Papagayos. I am sure you will get some great answers on the BN Bulletinboard (we are Jimjudywa on that board) but I will try and give you our impressions. On the Royal Clipper it is a much smaller boat but even so, we could be nude pretty much everywhere and anytime of the day except for the dining rooms for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Having said that, not all folks went nude all the time - some folks were nude most of the time and stayed on the boat....some ladies wore pareos but were topless otherwise and some men/women covered while they were moving between floors......just depends - generally though folks were clothed for meals and for getting ready for excursions off the ship (but nude most other times). At nights (note it was cool out on the decks at night - like 60 degrees) when the dancing broke out on the deck - I would say it was like 50 / 50 nude and clothed - and no one cared whether you were nude or not (mostly clothed because it could be windy and cold). Given the BigNudeBoat dancing will be inside....I would expect more folks will be nude, just because it will be warmer and I also expect a good amount of folks will be wearing their costumes. Me and my wife really enjoy dancing as well but sometimes we are nude and sometime not....just depends on how we feel that night....I full expect to be walking around nude most of the time on the boat. At Club O....we have always had a studio and have been nude pretty much 24x7 (we love it). We have not danced alot at Papgayos...but that is mostly because we enjoy a little faster dance music (i.e. if we hear sweet caroline by Neil Diamond one more time I think we will pass out). I am not an expert (have not been on a large 2000 person nude cruise yet) but based on our royal clipper trip I would expect most folks to be nude or wearing their costumes (somewhat revealing) and then maybe 30% dressed...but I dont know for sure.....we will just go with the flow. But one thing for sure - I don't think anybody will believe you are Militant Nudists......after all that is what most of us have signed up for on the cruise to be Nude. At Papagayos....Judy is more comfortable covered up while eating and I enjoy just going nude. Hope this helps and let us know if you have more questions. We are on the Lido deck 9232. Jim and Judy
This is our3rd cruise - our 1st 2were different. 1st cruise we were not to be nude in any of the ports Carnival Ledgend 2009. 2nd cruise we could be nude in all the ports from Key West on, Centry Celebration 2011. In both cases some people got nude before announcements took place. Speedos, t-backs were in full force on departure day, and see thru net style clothes. You may want this attire for boat to shore and beach excursions. Its nice not to feel out of place in this enviroment. Everytime the ship left port there were moments of dance and fun contest with bands or DJ's. Sometimes they did line dances and mix up dance partners. At this time there is not any real erotic wear by pool decks unleess at night, and music sound stays with the pool area. Some are not drawn to this but more to reading crowd. Lido deck buffet dinning always nude and freshsitting towels are everywhere. Many folks, older, use the robes almost everywhere, but are prohibited in lower deckDinning as well as erotic wear. You can be nude in casino any time they are open, shop nude, get your nails done, workout nude with a towel to sit on, use men and ladies spa areas together nude-always good to shower in Spa it has more elbow room than the cabin, and speeds up cabin time getting ready. The Disco, the 1st cruise play Cyndi Laper "Girls want to have fun" 3 or 4 times a night-nice club but bad DJ. 2nd cruise big difference and spoke real english not a great club. Event though erotic wear is accepted at night - overt touching errections will told some thing by Bare Necessities peter patrol. As long as its kept playful no one bats an eye, but over repeated will be warned to take themselves out of the public areas to cool off. All entertaiment areas bars, elevators, hallways, allow nude attire all the time, but the A/C will still run those with low tollerences and sunburn to cover up. All staff will never dress down and some entertainers may go speedo style but never nude. We did get a flash from the ships director and got a huge laugh from the audience in the theater.Wear deck shoes during sunny days it burns your feet. Put on sun block before you leave your cabin. We never save chairs by the pool. Many good spots open all the time. 1st day is like this at sea with those not wanting to miss anything. Do what you want to do when you want, this is your vacation. Also each cabin has a mail box outside the doors and good to use to meet up with your friends. You may want to decorate you entrance door for those to see, many do with photo's, note pads, andthemes. Each day you will get a daily update for the many activities on board each day. Again don't try to make all activities, you will drive yourself crazy.Greg and Rhonda
A good DJ does make a difference, and they had a really good one at Laguna del Sol. At Club Orient they had a live singer with a karaoke machine, and he did a good job, too. If we hear Sweet Caroline, we will think we are at Fenway Park for a Red Sox game! ...you probably need to be from Boston to get that one.
We'll try to think up some costumes, but it may come down to one or two see-through dresses plus her trusty Pareo for Carolyn and nude for me (what a punishment for not thinking up a costume!) ... Does wearing a towel in a smart casual way -- I'll have to figure that one out as I go along -- rather than just holding it over your shoulder as you walk in to the lounge count as a costume? If so I might have an idea for all of the theme nights except the Captain's dinner!
We're so uncreative, we ended up using the same username on the BN website as well, so it should be easy to find us there. That doesn't bode well for our chances of thinking up good costumes, though!

A learning experience was noted on the FFII cruise. This wasmy first nude cruise, and I figured everybody stays naked. Surprise! Many or most of those who dressed fordinner remained textile for the evening. The night clubs were about 50/50 and theme nights saw a lot of costumes. At times I felt out of place being naked but no one gave any cause for concern. Stay naked, it's ALL fun.

50/50 isn't bad. I just don't want us to walk into a room where nudes are few and far between. Carolyn would just join the textiles every night. We have early dinner, so we have time to hit the hot tubs before dancing... and who wants to get dressed twice in the same day :)
....erotic wear is accepted at night....
This being our first cruise, we still aren't sure what this really means - in that as to what extent, or how far, can you go with this, for both the men and the ladies? I'm a bit moreadventurousthan the misses, and Ibelievethis can be fun, but I don't want to cross any line as anewbie. Any thoughts?
Here are a list of things you may see.Fancy T-backs M/F, net wear M/F, see thru wear M/F, short skirts F/ sometimes cross dressers like Gigi, costume theme elephant style fun wear M,high heels F/ sometimes cross dressers, glitter F/sometimes matching males, body paint M/F. Suronges M/F robes from the cabins M/F-remember many want somthing to sit on and may be cold. Some may just want to watch and wear everyday clothes and as they get hot - clothes come off; you could wind up leaving items behind. Being all nude isalways ok.I hope this sums it up
